MMEA/MSACDA Call for Research Posters 2025

MMEA/MS-ACDA announces a call for poster session proposals for its annual Professional Development Conference. We invite music educators, scholars, and graduate students to submit abstracts for research to be presented in poster format. Submissions are open to all forms of research, including quantitative, qualitative, historical, and philosophical studies. Preference for acceptance will be primarily given to research that is completed, and in-progress research will be considered given that there is clarity of the research questions, methodological design, and the potential for meaningful findings by the time of the conference. Posters will not be accepted if data collection has not started by the time of the submission deadline.

All submissions should meet the Code of Ethics found in the Journal of Research in Music Education. Research presented at other conferences will be considered. However, previously published work will not be accepted.

All posters but must include more than a simple review of literature for consideration. Manuscripts of research representing descriptive or experimental studies must conform to the “Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association, Seventh Edition (2020).” Writers of other types of studies may submit manuscripts that conform to either, A Manual for Writers of Term Papers, Theses, and Dissertations 9th Edition (2018) or the Chicago Manual of Style 16th or 17th edition (2010/2017).

Submission Guidelines:

Presenters must be current members of MMEA or MS-ACDA and understand that the organizations will not assume financial responsibility for food, travel, or conference registration fee. Your submission implies that you are prepared to travel and present if selected.

Submissions will be anonymously (blind) reviewed by a panel of qualified reviewers. Applicants will be notified of their acceptance by December 15, 2024. Please direct all questions to Dr. Ian Cicco (ian.cicco@usm.edu).
